CSM are delighted to announce that we have now received planning consent for Wardlaw Wood Solar, a 20MW solar farm co-located on the operational Dalry Community Wind Farm.
Given Scotland’s ambitious and commendable policy of net zero emissions by 2045, there is a growing demand to grow and diversify renewable sources of energy to replace traditional carbon intensive methods. By co-locating the development within Dalry Community Wind Farm, we are able to provide a more reliable, steady stream of energy production which will benefit the local grid network when energy demand is at its highest.
CSM are committed to also benefiting the local community at Dalry, providing £500 per MW of energy produced by the development as community benefits. Importantly, the site’s design ensures that the solar panels will be discreetly integrated into the landscape, remaining largely hidden from view in Dalry.
CSM are now working through the conditions and finalising the design of the consented project, which will feature PV panels co-located with the operational wind farm and include environmental enhancements to improve the biodiversity of the site.
